I was having IRQ and USB problems on my KT7-RAID board and solved it as follows.

Make sure your parts are in the following PCI slots:

PCI 1 (first slot under the AGP) - empty
slot 2 - Sound card
slot 3 - Modem
slot 4 - Network card

After loading the OS, the first driver you should load is the VIA 4-in-1
patch. For ME, load 4.28a, and for 2000 load 4.26. After that, load the USB filter patch from http://www.viatech.com. Do not load any other drivers from viatech.

As long as I don't have anything in Slot 4 of my PCI I don't have any USB problems...:)

Scatch that. Everytime my monitor trys to go to sleep the system reboots. Does that sound like an IRQ conflict?

richerb,

When you that you were having USB troubles, did this include all USB ports dying until you rebooted?
