How I make my vista not write any files onto my USB HDD?

Its those irritating ini files and FOUND OOO, System Information folder etc. Does anybody know I can stop vista from writing stuff without my permission?

the found.000 files are usually from chkdsk running on the drive and found errors and attempted to recover the file,
the system volume information, you would have to turn of system restore monitoring on for that drive.
recycler folder, would have to turn off the recycle bin for that drive.

as for the .ini files. not sure, but never really noticed them myself and they do not take up any space anyway

Go to drive properties, policies, and optimize for Quick Removal. Turn off indexing and System Restore and Shadow Copying in that drive. And, then plug it in only when you want to use it.
