Yup. The whole rotate around the nodal point thing. This is very important if you're taking pictures where there's a foreground element and a much further background element in the same scene.

If all you have is a background element at around infinity focus, this is not required. When I do panoramas of, say, a landscape at infinity focus, I don't bother trying to do this. I just handhold it and shoot whatever and I know the stitch will turn out fine.

You know what's kinda messed up? My favorite landscape lens is my 100-300mm :confused:
