How I hate telemarketers!

Whenever we eat dinner the god damn phone rings! And I can tell its a telemarketer since there is a pause after I say hello. I've never gotten the guts to say, put me on your do not call list, but I hang up on them rudely. Anyone ever told them not to call them ever?

I don't answer the phone anymore. Let the machine get it. I have told most people to give us a chance to get to the phone as we screen. Sad state of affairs. Once was a day when you answer the phone and need be harassed.

Ever work telemarketing? I did, only for a couple weeks though, and I couldn't stand it. Let me just say that the other end of the line is much worse, and next time you want to tell them to put you on the do not call list just do so. Basically the job consists of calling up people that don't want to be called, and have them be rude to you even though you dislike it as much as they do (if not more). One less person being rude and calmly telling them to never call back just makes their day that tiny bit better.

Keep in mind this is just my take on it...there may be some sick freak out there who actually enjoys the job, but I never met a single one.

Graduating from college, moving to a different address w/ a different phone number, and cancelling all of my credit cards has really curbed my telemarketing phone calls

I sometimes find them quite entertaining, particularly then they are trying to reach me at "home". Every company I've ever purchased from, everything I've ever signed up for, all my credit cards, etc., have the data line phone number at my shop.

So, every night, starting about 6 PM or so, the line starts ringing. They NEVER leave a message, so I just sit here chuckling knowing that the dimwit on the other end thinks he's actually calling my home number. Bwuahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

I had some fun with one a couple days ago. I recommend saying nothing but one word, I used "cactus" and for about 3 minutes she tried to figure out what was going on before I lost it and had to hang up.
