How hot...

You mean the "System" temp? I've seen about as high as 33-35C on mine, somewhat more than that is probably fine...I'm not really sure if this is something that varies widely from board to board or not. (It will of course depend on stuff like your ambient air temperature though)
 
my Asus P4P800 SE stayed below 40 even under torturing loads. Those Intel 865/875 chipsets are perfectly fine with passive cooling. I wouldn't worry about a thing unless you have absolutely no airflow in the case.
