How !@&HOT&@! is your Athlon

Mine is about 64-65 degrees at maximum usage

I know that is hot, but we have been hitting 100+ degrees all summer here in Utah

How hot is your Athlon? Where do you want to go today? 😉 Guess who I work for...

It's running 43 right now, basically idle.

The highest I've seen it (since I installed this mobo friday night) is 48.

Once upon a time before I had my CPU at around 72-75 normal running temp and I hit 80 at a LAN party 😱

So then I decided to get a new case with 5 case fans, some dust filters, and cleaned the dust out of my heatsink and I've also got a new motherboard to just for kicks, and now according to Asus PC Probe it's in the mid 40s.

Well okay it's 41 now at the end of this message 😛 so low 40s I guess 😛

Edit: Oh yeah, my case is 24, and this is with AMD retail heatsink.

1800+ undervolted.
34ºC case, 42ºC idle (socket temp)
34ºC case, 45ºC load
That 34º case temp is only 3ºC above ambient right now.

speedfan said my 2400xp was 49C right after i came out of gaming, iirc.

room very hot this summer, hadnt cleaned fan filter, blah blah...
oh and btw mobo's record temps differently - comparison is largely meaningless.

the 65 and 100 is F or C+F?

Mine is at 55C under load... Even with 4 case fans
and a Vantec Aeroflow HS+F

2500+ Barton

😕

XP 1800+ @ 17.7C No load. (sitting on shelf) 😛

It actually belongs to my brother in law. I'll send it back to AMD and get it replaced (it died) once he learns to respect my property and stops accusing me of sabotaging his shuttle!

-DAK-

XP 1800+ @ 17.7C No load. (sitting on shelf) 😛
LMAO 😉
Edit= You mind tellig us all not who you work for but Rather the MoBo in ? and which BIOS, as I remember 1 that use to hit that high until an updated the BIOS came along

34C-38C Idle
40C-43C Under Load

System temps around 34-36C

2500+ Barton @ 1.83GHz

Got a Speeze FalconRock with a Panaflo on top
2 Panaflo case fans (intake and exhaust)
1 Zalman 92mm on a Zalman FB123 Bracket (for GF4 Ti - also blows air on North Bridge)

my 1700+ at 2300mhz runs idle at 39c and up to 45c under stress

mine use to be 72c under load with sk6 hsf now with slk800a never goes above 53c under load.this with case temp 25c and tbred 1700+@2ghz

Thanks for all the great info guys!

I put a new MOBO in and used AS for the first time ( wondering if I applied it correctly using instructions off their site ), and now that you mention it, that must be Celsius... Thanks!

BTW, I think the stuff that came on the AMD heatsink worked TONS better, and without all the instructions. Keep up the good work guys ( at AMD and otherwise )!

(and here's the info):
MSI KT3V
256 MB DDR, Kingston
case temp, 35 C
maybe need another case fan, but better work on the thermal solution first...

Thanks,
Bfonnes

Mine gets into the low-mid 50s during heavy load. Currently using stock cooling (though there is a blowhole with a 120mm sunon 137CFM fan on the side of the case near there) xp2500 barton running at 203 FSB @ 1.775v (2233mhz) I imagine I could get another 200mhz or so out of it .. however, I dont feel like modding the chip, and the RAM is being pushed to its limmits (PC2700 isn't exactly designed for 406mhz heh)
