How hot is too hot?

Hello, I have a Gigabyte P35 motherboard. In the gigabyte utility "Easytune 5" it tells me that my motherboard is running around 50 C; is that very hot? Also does this "system" tempature just mean the northbridge?

Also using that same easytune utility it tells me my cpu is running at 26C; but when I run speedfan it tells me my core 1 is 47C and core 2 is 48C. I understand that there is a Tjunction and a different sensor. One of them gives ~ 15C lower tempature. I heard that speedfan uses the lower reading for its tempature. How can this be since if speedfan is the lower reading then how can my easytune utility say 26 degrees? Thats 20C difference betteen software readings.

Your temps are ok, especially if using the Intel stock heatsink. I don't even use temp monitoring software anymore. Just use at least one large case fan. I also recommend a 120 or 140mm fan on the power supply.

What processor are you running? The easy tune thing must be crazy to tell you that your CPU is 26C, thats probably the ambient temperature in your room, which would be straight up impossible (well, unless your using a refrigerated cooling system or TEC or something, but im going to venture a guess that says you're not). 50C is fine for your NB, and 47C and 48C for your cores also sounds fine. I've got a pentium D and i usually run mid forties at idle and mid 50's at load.
Haha 26C reminds me when at one point i was bored and experimenting with some 4" diameter ducting pipe which ran from my window directly to the side intake fan on my case (right over the cpu). It was february in Ann Arbor MI so I was blowing like 5C air right into my case and it dropped my cpu temp down to like 30C. I got rid of it though because I was a little scared of condensation with all the freezing air in the case.
Anyway how do you like your Gigabyte mobo? I was thinking hard about getting one but then there was a good deal at Mwave on the Abit.

I have a core 2 e6400; my cooling is the Tunique Tower. I do really like this motherboard; almost the exact same bios as the GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3; better sound card; just a newer board.

Anyone else have some input on the tempature with the cpu?

Also when I run 400X8 to achive a 3.2gig overclock. That would mean that ddr2 6400 ram would be running at 1:1 ratio; correct? If so why then does it say when I choose divider 2 that I am getting 800. There is no option for divider 1; but doesnt divider 2 mean 2:1 or something.

Yes you are running 1:1 ratio. The 2X in the ram setting means 2 times the fsb (400). So 2 times 400 is 800. PC6400 ram runs at 800. So therefore you are at 1:1.
