I've got a 550 (not overclocked)and a standard hsf. Kept getting lockups while playing quake 2. Checked the cpu temp in bios and it was running 135 deg F. Pulled side panel off case and temp stayed in the 120's. Changed out hsf and now its running in the 120's with side panel on (115 w/cpu idle). What temp is too hot and is it time to invest in a better hsf? I don't know what the temp should be running normally.

I was getting about the same temperatures with mine until I put in some decent thermal grease (just had the generic heat pad on the HSF before that) and now I NEVER get over 44 degrees Celsius (110 Fahrenheit) even after days of heavy load using a generic $5 HSF...
