How hot is a P4 supposed to run?

I'm getting temps up to 104-106 at times, is this normal? Sometimes stuff starts to lock up...ive been running this 1.6ghz chip at 2.133 for a entire year now.

Sounds a tiny bit warmer then normal but I dont see anything to cry about

Yeah, if that's F then no prob, but if it's C then you're in big trouble!

if its locking up then u probably do have problems might not be the proc though, probably something else.

Yea mine tops out around 105C too smoke keeps comming out of the case but i just keep playing BF1942 and ignorez the smell.

Most p4s (if not all) will throttle back on their frequency when they overheat so its not as big of a problem as it is with athlons...

oh yah and

Duke sucks

My P4 2.4b has been runing about 113F for 6 months no problem. Eventually i'm gonan pu tin some better cooling but I don't overclock or anything so I don't think it's super critical.
