just built this computer, check profile for specs. ive been playing lots of graphics demanding games and had no problem. but all of sudden ive played war 3 twice today and both times my computer turned off 45 minutes into the game. upon reboot i noticed ati CCC showed card at 57celsuis and now its idling around 54celsuis. the fan is definately working i can feel air coming out from back.

also if my vid card was overheating my computer wouldn't just turn off would it? got to be something else

Mine idles at ~44C at bootup. After heavy load it idles at ~51C. Usually if it overheats it either gives a VPU recover error or the screen goes blank. If it's restarting, then something else must be wrong - like not beefy enough PSU, or bad system memory.

I just had this happen to me right now, about 5 minutes ago. I had been playing EQ2 for about 45 minutes when I rebooted. The system event log shows this:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000024 (0x001902fe, 0xf78f65e0, 0xf78f62dc, 0x80505bed). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini021206-01.dmp.

Supposed to be hard drive related, but I've checked it and everything seems fine. I dunno what's up!

By the way, the card idles at 55c~ and tops off at about 75c. ATI reps have said the card should be good to go up until 100c+, then there will be damage to the card.

It just happened again, this time it was:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbfa3ecb7, 0xa7bed7c8, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini021206-02.dmp.

Faulting driver was ati2cqag.dll

My XTX hits around 75C at full load and idles around 50C. I've never had a reboot or any problems. I've ran WoW all day long without any problems.

What's your CPU temps? What about your power supply or memory issues? Have you ran memtest and prime95?
