How Hot Do Heat Pipes Get?

I have an Epox 8NPA+ and a Sonata II case with an SI-120 HSF.

The power connector to the motherboard rests against the heatpipes on the SI-120. I'm guessing that if I leave it this way, it will melt right through the multicolored plastic coating on the wires. Is that a correct assumption?

How would you suggest suspending the power cord out from the HSF?

thats not a problem i think. it would need temperatures over 100°C to melt a cable. if the cables/connector do not influence the air flow to much its all good.

Your computer should overheat and shut down long before it gets hot enough to melt through the wires.

Great! That's good to know. Guess that thing doesn't get as hot as I thought...

I thought about turning it around, but with it positioned like this, a little bit of the fan overhang cools the RAM... perhaps.
