How high do E8400 chips go?

I read somewhere somebody was able to only hit 3.6 before it gave up.

I was under the impression these chips can hit 4.0 easily (assuming other components are inline).

Not 4ghz easy.....You need the right board and ram that wont hold you back....I would sya 1.36ghz fairly easy...4ghz with anywhere from 1.3-1.4v

only got to 3.82 here with premium components and 1.32v idle - 1.27 load
