How high can you safely take the vcore on a 2.6C?

I've got a 2.6C up to 3.25 @ 1.55 volts...it seems stable for the most part but prime95 returns errors after 1 minute, even after going up to 1.575.

At what point do you start sacrificing the life of the chip?

Oh...forgot to add that I have an ABIT IC7 and 512 Corsair 3500C2...currently running 250 @ 5:4 ratio

I think most of the people that overclock P4's are suggesting 1.6v and below, but they are rated for 1.75v max Vcc, so if your sure your motherboard doesn't overvolt then you should (by ratings anyway) be safe to 1.75v. I lost a P4 running it at 1.8v though so the lower the voltage the better is the general consensus.

I can get 100mhz more by running my current processor at 1.75v (1.7v by sensors), but instead run it at 1.6v (1.55v by sensors) and accept the minimal loss of speed for the security of knowing its less likely to die of SNDS as my other chip did.

I run my 2.6C @ 257 FSB @ 1.6V on my IC7. The IC7 undervolts a little, so its more like 1.575 actual. Usually once you get to a certain point in CPU speed, more Vcore doesn't help much anyway. Try 1.6 and 1.625. I wouldn't go any higher.

1.65v actual would be my uppermost limit (actual meaning as reported in windows, not what you set it to in the bios cuz sometimes boards overvolt or sometimes they undervolt)

right now i've got it ROCK SOLID at 3.25 @ 1.65 volts...which is 1.63 on the IC7 because it undervolts by a sizeable margin. by rock solid i mean it's able to do prime95 for 24 hours ++. clearly not the best 2.6C out there right now, but 3.25 is good enough for me, and as seing as how the highest commercialy avaialble is 3.06, i think i'm doing ok.

any other opinions are more than welcome. thanks.
