So once I click on the state, the ranking is within the sate? That would suck as I know my state sucks when it comes to health, would be fun to know where we stand nationally...

How does this philosophy apply here? are you saying that we should not want to be healthy, as "healthy" defined by the govt standard?

Current county of Washtenaw is ranked #9 in the state for Health Outcomes and #1 for Health Factors.

Delta county, where I was born and raised, is ranked #40 and #15, respectively. The findings aren't surprising but the "error margin" is sure high for a lot of results; in many cases the value of the factor is within the error margin.

I'm perplexed by some of the things used to determine the ranking. "Access to exercise opportunities"? Apparently that means gyms, since it's one of the areas where my county ranks poorly. Yet, the county is filled with county and state forests where hiking trails abound, and tons of other types of opportunities.

And, percentage of people who drive to work alone? It's such a rural county, why would anyone carpool?

Lol, my county, Bucks in Pa, has gone steadily downhill since 2011 -- from 6th to 7th to 9th to 10th to 12th.

Yeah, every single one of these "USA Today" level surveys contains tons of flawed assumptions applied to the data.

Of course people who don't live in big cities exist. We know this because they are mooching off the taxes paid by the big city workers who produce most of the actual wealth in our country.
