I agree with you there. "What should I do about this situation with my friend that did this, then did this?" type threads are good.
"I've got 75 cents, what should I get out of the snack machine here at work? I'm pretty sure I'll get a Snicker's bar" type threads sound more like the person is an attention whore in desperate need.
 
i think a lot of the people on atot wouldn't need to be on atot if they had social skills 😉 (that was just a shameless crack, sorry)

but seriously, if you don't like it, don't read it. no one asked you to read the guys "What to buy for lunch thread" i know i didn't. You dont' need to enter every thread to read every topic. I entered this one expecting to hear some high quality rants, these were (meh) since they pertained to facts most people realize around post 200.

After reading these forums for over 3 years, I have noticed a general decline in the quality of the posts. For the most part, people here can hold a decent conversation, and quite a few post on subjects that are "postworthy", but it just seems that over the past year or so, a lot of users have seemed to have run out of decent and/or interesting things to post, and like mentioned before, many of them seem to have absolutely no real world social skills, so they post on here to get their "fix" of attention.
I'd assume that someone that is that desperate for attention would actually create a thread that's worthwhile to read, but maybe they just assume that since they can get their attention posting the same old garbage, why waste the effort in creating a good thread?

I'll continue to hope that they can develop real life social skills, and begin posting worthwhile/interesting topics in ATOT.

Link 2: What does asking if Pepsi changed flavors have to do with asking for advice on what to eat for lunch with x amount of money? There was nothing in that thread that was trying to get attention.

Link 3: As far as the "Thank you" thread, it was an inside joke regarding the stupid credit card commercials (Citi, I think).

All three links are links to pointless threads which you appear to be ranting about. Funny you knock everyone else's pointless crap, but yours is a OK? Out of the 4 threads you started in the last couple of months, 3 were pointless pieces of crap and the last one was a repost x18 or so. Get off your high horse already, realize it is just OT and chill out.

I realized this before post 100, but then again, I tend to lurk more than post.
I decided to create this thread to rant about other threads, and to invite others to rant about the same, or whatever else they felt like ranting about. I know I can choose not to read the threads, but I chose to read the threads, and also chose to rant about em 🙂

If you don't find the rants to be good enough, why not go ahead and put out some high quality rants for us?

Like I already mentioned, I didn't find the Pepsi thread to be useless, it was a serious question.

Also, like I mentioned, the "Thank you" thread was an inside joke, that a few of the lurkers here would understand the meaning besides just the commercial.

I believe I'm entitled to a few pointless threads of my own, and if you want to complain about them, go right ahead, as I will rant about the pointless threads that I choose to.

You linked 3 threads previously, can you tell me which one was reposted so many times?

I'll keep riding my high horse as I have a good view up here, and I do realize that it's just OT, that's why I'm not having a heart attack and searching and reading all of your past posts.

The repost was something about picture hosting...which seems to be covered every couple of months. Some people either don't know how to search or refuse to. Either way, I could care less what you post, I was merely making fun of you for ranting about pointless threads when its obvious that you are guilty of the same thing. You can defend your posts all day long, infact, I would expect you to...you're the one who posted them after all.
