How hard would it be to ad your own music to PC games?

GTAIII ruled by letting you do this.

I have been playing RalliSport Challenge and would like to add my own tunes.

Would it just be as easy as going into the game files and changing their tunes for my tunes??

depends on the game. I dont have Rallisport Challenge so I cant give you any clues on how that one is set up. Its all about how the prgrammers set it up.

They claim you can do it in madden.

I just turn the music off sow I can hear John and al make witty remarks.

turn the music volume down and use winamp?

Or you could locate the music files and replace them with your own (only if they're mp3/wav) and rename them.

But in some games they play music off the cd (like jediknight 2) or use weird audio codecs like .uax (unreal tourny)

I just run winamp in the background.

The Rallisport Challenge music tracks are just .wav files. Have you tried replacing them with new files?
