How hard would it be...oc'ing 570gtx.

What I wanted to do was overclock my board. It's an evga 570gtx...part # 012-p3-1571-k. The current default clock are: Core clock - 732mhz | Shader clock - 1464mhz | Memory clock - 3800mhz. I am using the stock cooler on this board.

What I wanted to get the clocks to is: Core clock - 797mhz | Shader clock - 1594mhz | Memory clock - 3900mhz....

How likely is it that I can get it to those speeds on the stock cooler? Possible?

I appreciate the help, :)

yes very possible. Use MSI afterburner, give it 1.1 volts and up the core to 800, test for stability. If it seems fine, then slightly drop the voltage and check for stability, drop the voltage and repeat until a game crashes. Use a game like Crysis to test for stability or just download the demo.

Come back and tell me what your lowest voltage is at 800 core and mabe we will take it higher if your temps are ok..

I have the same card and can do 800mhz at .988v but of course your mileage may vary.

Keep a very close eye on your temps especially if you do up the voltage to 1.1v, the cooler on these HD cards is rather weak imo.

Even the worst clocking GTX570 won't need 1.1v to get to 800Mhz. Mine is pretty bad but it still only needs 1.025 to reach that speed. Consider 1.1v to be the upper 'safe' limit on these vanilla cards.

Well I didn't move the voltage at all and put it right to those #'s. What is a good benchmark to test it? The reason I am oc'ing is to match the #'s on my other 570 superclocked edition. Is there a good test for sli? So I know both cards are being tested?

Ok so I ran metro2033 benchmark with everything turned on @ 1920x1200. Max temps on card 1 - 99c card 2 - 88c.

The clocks are voltage 1013 - core 797 - shader - 1594 memory - 1950. The top card I think is getting hotter because the bottom card is almost rigth underneath it. Hot air is def going through the top cards fan.

Have to look into a sli video card cooling hardware. What do you guys think? Can I go any higher?

Thanks! :)

no i would go lower or lower your voltage those temperatures are no safe at all!

EDIT: nvm, you need to turn up the fan speed, go into settings on afterburner and setup your own fan profile so has you game the fan speed increases according to how hot its getting have it ramp up to 80-90% when it gets to like 70c

With those temps you'll want to get your case cooling as good as you can get it. Get the fan speed unlocker for your card from the EVGA forum as the vanilla card will max the fan at 85%, not 100%.

The custom fan profile i use in Afterburner is a linear graph that is 40% fan speed at 40c up to 85% at 85c.

What are normal temps for the 570's under stress? What is the normal under load temp? I am going to setup a fan profile tonight.

Are there any sli cooling systems available?

Thanks :)
