Ive been watching some youtube and looking at what some guys are able to do with fiberglass. question is, how hard is it to make large sections of fiberglass car parts. IE whole quarter panels?
Or should fiberglass be left to small repair jobs??

I have seen friends do their FSAE car bodys in one big fiberglass mold

Depends on how good you can make a mold, I suppose. Why not just grab a panel from a junker?

hes working on a 80's MR2.

there is unlikely to be any at the junkyard, let alone one with a good body panel!
