How hard is my vid card working?

Is there any program out there that can display how much/hard/level your video card is working during certain tasks.....something similar to Task manager and the like that displays CPU usage etc?

I think I am ready for an upgrade. I'm not a gamer but I do capture video and watch movies on my PC and the quality seems so much poorer on my PC versus once burned to DVD and watch on a set top player.

Any comments etc are appreciated

a 6600gt is your best bet. i don't know of any now, but try searching all over for video card monitor.

If I had the $ then that would be nice but I am looking to spend only what I need to to meet my video needs

You can get by with pretty much anything if you're not going to game.
