I'm in my second year of college and I've already screwed up my GPA. It's currently sitting at 2.8. I would like to transfer to a small private university that's closer to home for Spring 08. According to collegeboard.com, their acceptance rate is 83%.

h.s. gpa was 3.1
college gpa 2.8
affirmative action
volunteered 1 year at middle school (still doing it this year)

Do I have a chance? :shrug;

(I felt pretty European saying uni)

I prefer living at home and it saves housing costs. The school I applied for is also more "prestigious" than my current one (higher chance of employment).

2.8 isn't terrible, but you did say the one you applied for was more prestigious and i'm assuming more difficult to get into. gl tho...

Did you get that from a reliable source or from their salesmen?

It's not prestigious like Harvard or any of those Ivy League schools, but it's better than my current school.
