how hard is it to repair an lcd monitor?

my roomate's lg 1715s monitor died and he was about to throw it out, but i took it... was wondering how hard it is to repair ?

when you push hte power button, you can get a display for a split second, then it shuts off. i think the bulb is probably dying/dead or somethign is wrong with the circuitry.

has anyone had experience w/ LG's monitor warranty service? it took me like an hour to finally find their service website. i will probably call them in the morning to see if i can set up some type of swap/repair or something. I don't think this thing is over two years old, but i don't have any receipt or anything (my roomate bought it).

It's never that easy to repair. I don't know anything about the LG monitor service, but usually warranties for electronics are 90 days or so. You could try calling the credit card company, they often have some kind of customer warranty extension... good luck
