I will post a video of my Crown Victoria tonight that has had nearly zero oil pressure for three months, knocks so amazingly loud it puts the most aggressive diesel to shame, and is driven every day up to 100 miles a day. Damn thing refuses to die.

Mythbusters did something similar to this with an old Cadillac engine. They poured sugar, water, coca cola and I can't remember what else and that engine kept going. If I recall correctly, I think the engine finally gave out when they added mothballs into the oil tank. Funny stuff.

Rev limiting.... take an old car, open its throttle, and see how long it lasts. Rev limited = artifical life support. Boo!

I ran a '76 Dodge Colt(i4) with a brick on the pedal and the exhaust manifold off for more than half an hour, the damn thing ran better after than before.

My 1990 Honda Accord Coupe:
1- has been in two somewhat major accidents (declared 'totaled' twice)
2 - Is burning oil due to a broken piston ring; Noisy as well
3 - The left axle is about to fall off...
4 - The clutch is worn
5 - The synchros are worn out...
....and I've probably driven 30,000k miles with it like this...probably closer to 90 since it started burning oil.
The ride is bumpy and noisy as hell, but she always performs admirably...hopefully I will be able to replace the axle and change the oil this weekend.![]()
