I'v been looking into a new cooler for my Athlon XP, right now im using a CAK38 and it makes ALOT of noise:(. I'd really like to quiet this thing down a bit but I dont want to sacrifice to much performance. It seems like the Alpha 8045 is my best bet but I'v never installed a heat-sink like it before. How am I supose to get all four screws in without moving the heatsink around and spreading the thermal paste everywhere?, can someone who has installed one of these things successfully let me in on if it's tricky or not?. Thanks in advance

The screws go into the HSF first, then you slip the HSF into the mobo and tighten the nuts on the back. It should move around too much. If you're worried about cracking the core, make sure you get a shim. IMO, the 4-hole mounting is much easier than the clip-on mounting.
