My GrandAM was rearended by a lady two months ago. The insurance company decided to total it, paid 75% of its value and let me to keep it. Now, they are cancelling my insurance policy because they wrote off this vehicle. It's Saturday night now and I haven't had the opportunity to call other insurance companies. How hard is it to get insured for a salvage car?

You may be able to get liability insurance, which is basically about your driving skills, but it's probably impossible to get collision insurance. I once asked about this when a car of mine was written off. I was told they keep records on the VIN numbers of totaled cars, and they do not insure them.

If you already got 75% the value, you're ok as long as you can get liability and PIP insurance.

You'd want PIP, otherwise if you get hurt, noone is paying for it.
