How hard is it to become a saleman at a place like CC?

I've thought about it many times because I usually end up talking people into better parts when I explain all the benefits of it. That got me thinking how hard it would be to get hired at CC. I wouldn't be asking much pay, more for the experience.

I'm still in HS, but my selling skills would be considered pretty good. I usually tell people what all to buy and explain everything to them before they go and buy, hehe. My friends love it when I do that. I would be 16 with a car next summer...

Can't imagine it's that hard. Out of the Circuit City's I've been too half of them don't know their ass from a hole in the ground  The only ones that do are the installation people in my experience.

Not that hard. Unless your local CC already had a full staff. I know they hire people rather easily. I went in there and took a few tests and got hired.

What kind of tests? As in drug tests and the like?

Do you know anything about computers?

If yes, you have no chance of being hired.

LOL no, probably basic hardware/software test.

And yeah, i would imagine it would be pretty easy. They're not looking so much for the wiz kid, but somebody social and can handle customers.

Now that you mention you're 16 I don't know if they usually hire people under 18 years of age. You might just want to try and go down there and apply though.

Oh ok. I wish I could have landed a job at CC or BB when I was sixteen lol. But it does not hurt to try anyway. I'd just go down there and ask for an application and apply.

Try checking their website and see if you can apply online. Maybe that would help you out a lot.

I thought about BB too, but I don't want to end up stocking items or just repairing computers in a place of the building secluded fromt he rest of the store only with a few other repair people... But salesman would be a nice position...

You can specify that you want only a salesman position on the application.

Yeah, If I can workout this next summer with as few vacations as possible or something, I'd like to get a job going or something, otherwise next summer. I don't like them during school year just because of time...

Ding ding ding! No one cares if you can sell a computer better than everyone else. Sell a computer with warranty, surge protection, ink, cables, paper, software, blank CD's, system services and an internet connection. THEN you'll know if you can hack it there.
