Ill tell you straight up...the DFI has the most potential of OCing I have ever seen. Every single option is open for you to optimize in terms of the settings/memory timings...etc., As a novice/moderate computer builder, I do admit it was quite hard.

I myself am having trouble with some cold boot starts. If you want an all around board that is good in every area but not great in one is the Asus SLI boards. The DFI is like err umm a sports car...fast and so many overclocking options however it's a pain to work/fix and it isn't the smoothest ride.

Hope that helps.

QFT. Like European cars. You get your BMW but it will have so many problems. In the end whether it's worth it is up to you....

My first computer build was with an Abit. Up and running in no time.

MY second build was with DFI LP NF4 Ultra-D. I couldn't boot until like 20 tries later. It wasn't that I made a mistake. I still don't know why it didn't boot. Random CMOS clears somehow got the trick and I upped the voltage a bit just to make sure and flashed the BIOS to 623-3 for my CPU. I have friends who have been frustrated as hell becasue of PSU incompatibility.

There are so many problems with DFI, but you can almost ALWAYS find a solution to your problem.

Right now, I can't get my NV Lan to work and only the Marvell port to work. But DFI-Street is helping me on that and I'll try some stuff once I Get back from work.

I say it's worth it in the end, but that's just me.

yea dfi's do overclock very well as htt speeds of 300mhz+ are being seen more frequently. i have mine at 275x9 off a 3000+ and i loved doing all the required tweaking. my brother wants the same setup but i made him get the asus nf4 sli board to make setup easier for him.

I haven't had any problems with my Ultra-D. If there's something in the BIOS you don't understand just leave it at auto or default untill you do. It's a great board, just take your time, do some research & you'll be fine.
