Probably the chains more than the ball, ball couldn't deal with that angle very well unless the tounge on the trailer got all bent around.

Contrary to them saying it's a bumper hitch in the title, the guy has a roll pan (meaning no bumper). It must be a reciever hitch, and I agree that the ball is NOT holding the truck up, the hitch of the trailer is about a foot away from the rear of the truck (you can see it over the tailgate)

Yeah, a receiver hitch with a ball on it.

Having zoomed in on the picture, it certainly looks to me as though the ball is still coupled to the trailer. Another reason why it's always good to have a stronger hitch than you think you'll need. :)

If the guy has a bumper, it's twisted to hell. Because the rear trim ends in white body w/ nothing poking out around the rear quarter panel

That guy is an idiot and deserves to be in that situation, I don't know why anyone would tow a boat or any load of that size without a Weight Distrabution System/Load Leveler on it.

Vehicles over 5400 GVWR should have a separate license class and driving test (one where people leave crying cause they have ex- drill sargants give the test), if he'd have lost control and went the other way he could have killed someone :|

Instead we allow this amateur hour to control these big vehicles like this. :|
