Hey guys. I havn't really been thinking about overclocking my processor more than what it is at now or keeping my CPU cooler than it is now, but after seeing the Cooler Master Hyper TX on sale for $8AR at Canada Computers, I can't really resist.

Is the Cooler Master Hyper TX X2 a good cooler? How does it perform against the Scythe Katana and the AC64 Pro? I know the Scythe Katana and the AC64 Pro are pretty good bang for buck coolers, but I have absolutely no idea how good the Cooler Master Hyper TX X2 is. If the performance difference is only marginal, then I'll try to get myself one of these instead of waiting for the prices of the Katana and the AC64 Pro to drop.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the Katana, but the Hyper TX is almost exactly the same as the AC Freezer 64/7 Pro. If you were looking for a Freezer, the TX would be a great substitute at a low price.

Hmm, it's also capable with socket LGA775, which can allow me to use this on a Core 2 system or whatever comes out in like 3 years. Future proof anyone?

I got my Hyper TX today. So far, the temperature went down by 10C. It should go down a bit more after the AS5 gets broken in. For $5, no complains here.

Now, I can try and get 2.7Ghz on my X2.
