How good is my laptop for gaming?

Yes this is a early 2011 mbp.

The GPU is the weakest component. Not one I would refer to as a good gaming GPU. Not even adequate in my thinking for today's 3D games. Just my opinion.

That video card with only 256MB is going to severely limit your ability to play modern games. Might be possible with all settings turned down on DX9 based games. That's about it. I'm guessing that it's meant for media - HD movies, photo editing, etc. :\
