I want to buy an item from them, but I'm waiting for the price to drop. The price right now is OK, but I could wait another month or two. Are they likely to run out of stock? I've never dealt with them before.

Unless you buy something. Then the service is actually pretty good. I've bought from them twice. Good buys, ok prices, and fast shipping.

 
They ripped off a lot of stock holders a long time ago.

I never buy anything from them unless it's a price mistake, as a matter of principle.
 
I've always had good luck with them, sometimes the coupons line up just right for some great deals.

however I've heard they are a nightmare to deal with if you have to return something.
 
I buy stuff from them all the time. Hundreds of orders over the past few years. The only problem is that they are sometimes slow to ship things (although Amazon is too sometimes when you choose super saver shipping)

Most accurate posting so far. Everyone who chooses super saver (and that's almost everyone) knows what to expect.
 
If you buy your books at Amazon and not at Buy.com you should be shot. Buy.com guarantees to beat Amazon by 10%.

As for other stuff, they're usually ok.

Service is ehhh. No phone # to call. I once bought HL2 Collectors Edition during a crazy sale where itw as $28. I shipped it to the wrong address and they didn't respond in time that Fedex shipped the HL2 back to them. THe only way for me to get it was to reorder. I blamed them for being too slow to contact Fedex to fix the address. As a result, the HL2 deal was over and itw as like $80... I had to settle for a Fry's $19.99 deal later on, but that was just regular HL2, no collectors dvd version.. =(
 
I've never had a problem with BUy.com. I always check there when I'm in the market for something. And if they have a warehouse near you you can get items the next day every so often.

LOL that's the first thing I think of when I hear about buy.com. I was in on that deal for two monitors, my roomie for 6. He actually got two of them, and we both got money from the class action settlement that ensued from that fiasco.
 
I had a bad experience with them when my GPS unit was lost in the mail, was like pulling teeth trying to get them to send me another one and it dragged on for a good FOUR WEEKS! :|:roll: Whatever, buy.com never again unless it's something I don't need ASAP and I'm getting a hot deal.
