How good is a GeForce Go 7400?

So I've been eyeing the Sony Vaio VGN-SZ110B notebook...

Amazon link

...and it has a Geforce Go 7400 vid card in it. The last "Go" vid card I had was in my laptop a long time ago and it had a Geforce 2 Go, the very first mobile vid cards. I have no idea how they have progressed since then.

Would this 7400 be able to run games like WoW, FPS games (on med. settings), and other 3D RTS games?

Thanks!

I'm sure it'll run them at nice low to medium settings, depending on how high you set the game rez :p

I'd be a bit skeptical about a 7400 GO. I would try and find some benchmarks first.

WoW runs ok on an x300se 64mb @ 1280x1024 default setting when i had to use that card.

so i'm sure it would be fairly ok. not sure about fpses but a 7300go is probably faster than an x300se by a good amount.

The 7300 Go is a 4x3 Architecture Card (Pixeel Pipes x Vertex Pipes) so I guess the 7400 Go is just a higher clocked version of the 7300 Go.

7400 is 450MHz core and Ram but only 64 bit. with a 4/3 architecture it should be faster than a 7300GS desktop. It should also be faster than a mobile X600 from all the architectural enhancements of the 7 series (there are quite a bit even when comparing to 6 series.

I have a sony vaio S360 (the one w/ the mobility radeon 9700 w/ 64 megs. It runs games just fine, I can play CS at medium details at 1280x800 as well as guild wars at near max details. The sony S and now SZ series are unbeaten in terms of mobile lightweight gaming (only 4 pounds with these graphics chipsets). I absolutely adore mine for lan parties and on the go gaming.

Sweet...I'm about sold on the sz series.

At amazon, it's $1999.99 w/ $150 rebate.

Plus I have A9 rewards which is -1.57%, plus my 1% cashback on my CC which also extends warranty, and free 2nd day shipping and no tax.

Final cost is like $1798 AR. I mean in stores its gonna be over $2000 w/ taxes.....I'D BE STUPID NOT TO BUY ;)
