How good do you think The Day After Tomorrow will be?

I think it will be a 6 or 7. On a plainly entertainment level. You don't go to a movie like that looking for substance. I think Ian Holm's character will be the best thing about the movie. Screw Denis Quaid! :p

The movie will likely be a 5. It's one of those leave your brain at the door movies.

I think it will be good, especially since Donnie Darko is in it (yes, yes, I know, his name is Jake Gyllenahall or whatever :p).

In acting, Denis Quaid > Ian Holm

Worse than Deep Impact, better than The Core, probably better than Armegeddon. Just MHO.
EDIT: Oh yeah, number score... 5.90.

Since I'm not a huge fan of James Bond movies...I'd be really suprised if it is better than a 5...of course you never know.

The fact that it has Heidi Klum in it ensures that I will see it.

I'd go along with this. Armageddon was absolutely awful.

I would say a 3. I think it is going to be stupid, and the advance buzz I have read is entirely negative.

I predict it gets 20%-30% on rottentomatoes.

Hrmm, from the tone of this thread I've gathered that people have forgotten how to watch a summer movie while leaving their 'Couch Critic' hat at home.

I have to admit that I was looking forward to this movie a lot more before the powers that be decided to turn it into a policial event.

With that being said, I think the movie will be around an 8 on the 'summer movie' scale. (Note, this is not the same scale that applies to Oscar caliber movies)

I will say a 5....being it is entirely UNBelievable that the climate can change like a bat out of a h#ll. Though it does look to have great effects and Heidi.

About the same as Armageddon or Deep Impact.

Just summer action...bad acting, goofy premise, chock-full of CGI.
