I don't give a shit what you think, because no one really does. What do others think?

some say too aggressive.
some say i am a good driver.
others would rather I drive than anyone else when there is inclement weather or bad driving conditions such as mud, rough dirt/sand roads etc...

When my gang of four or five friends is out on a little road trip somewhere I'm often tossed the keys on the way home by the owner of the car. I guess that's a good sign.

I don't think being the DD is something to brag about. :colbert:

One of my best friends tossed me the keys to a $100,000 BMW 650i twin turbo V8 to drive us to dinner in recently. Another friend tossed me the keys to his brand new Ducati to let me ride it the day he picked it up from the dealership.

My wife says I'm a bit aggressive and a bit prone to slight bouts of road rage but we just agree to disagree on that... ;)

When I power-slid through an intersection to avoid a head-on collision and continued on as if nothing happened, my wife finally admitted I know what the hell I'm doing. Going through police road training doesn't hurt, nor does having nerves of steel and a lack of a panic reflex.

I learned far more racing than I did in emergency vehicle training (and still have a LOT to learn), but it does help. Driver training in the US is far, far below what it should be.

You have to be careful though. What you learn on a track may not translate well. Your tires are going to be cold (or at least not hot), etc in normal driving.

I've been told I am a good driver and that people are always comfortable knowing I am behind the wheel. I used to have road rage bad... It has calmed down a lot. I think everyone has some to a degree though, its rare to be driving with someone who never gets annoyed about anything behind the wheel.

Driving mechanics and car behavior remain the same. Grip changes during 25 hour races too - dirt gets kicked on the track from off-courses, wrecks, etc.

I am ok. I would say I am a bit more cautious than most I drive with. I find others brake much later than I do for stop signs/lights and merge through traffic, tail gate, and jump out at intersections much more aggressively than I would or do.

I don't really care if I am the driver, but the 3 people I go out of my way not to have drive me places are :

My dad is always paying attention to something other than the road and drives like he is late everywhere. told my kid, he doesn't have time to stop at stop signs. And told me he wanted me to increase the volume on his back up sensor beeper. told him it was as loud as it could go... damn he said, I would really hate having to start looking when I back up.... seriously???

My father in law is probably my last pick to drive me somewhere. crowds the wheel like he is rolling through a neighbor hood looking for house numbers. He will randomly do a "brake check" on the high way for no reason. doesn't even know he is doing it. is constantly on and off the accelerator. down the highway it is up and down 10 mph the whole way. make you sick

My brother is the most aggressive. acts like he personally owns the road. cuts off everyone, and seem to really like cutting off semi tractors. He will be the guy that wont give you an opportunity to merge onto the highway before he crosses the solids and jumps out on you as you finally have a chance to merge.

Don't know of any complaints as of recent. A few years ago a friend thought I was a little haphazard but I have either mellowed a bit since, or at least do when others are in the car :p I will fully admit I do tend to be more aggressive when I'm alone in the car but hey.

My insurance seems to like me enough. I've avoided accidents and have never been pulled over for anything.

I power slide through all intersections to assert my dominance over other drivers and less powerful and expensive vehicles.

I have been told that I am an "assertive" driver. The friend who said that assured me that it was not code for "aggressive."

Several other friends who have problems with being carsick have said that I'm the only driver they know who doesn't cause problems for them.

Taken together that would seem to mean that I'm reasonably fast and quite smooth.

Interesting responses (not really).

A lot of people have told me that I'm the only person who has ever made them car sick. Similarly, most people say that my driving is "terrifying". One person described it as "good but terrifying."

I don't feel bad about that. That's generally my goal and I never seem to fail at that.

The biggest surprise, to me, is that I just drive a slow and weak honda civic. I don't know how you can be scared when in that, but I manage to get people to be. :awe:

I'm a Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to driving. When driving alone I like to step on it (5 cylinder Volvo - sounds awesome, can't help it), but I restrain myself when I have passengers. When I do have passengers they usually complain that I drive too slow... Never got into any accidents yet, but had a few near misses that were not my fault. The drivers in Lithuania are massive assholes.

I'm sure of my actions on the street much to the dismay of passengers and other drivers. But ive learned that half decisions and 2nd guessing yourself is entierly more dangerous.

Far as on track goes. I had 5th fastest time out of about 400ish drivers at the summit point lemons race in june. So i guess i cant be terrible at driving fast :D

My wife thinks I'm "boring." I haven't had a ticket since 1998, and the only accident I had was 20 years ago, getting rear-ended at a stoplight. She, on the other hand, has been in half a dozen accidents, gotten multiple tickets, and gotten our car insurance non-renewed thanks to her last one.

So her opinion of my driving really doesn't count! :D
