I've always known I suck terribly at learning through auditory instruction. If someone is giving me directions, I zone out half way and just shake my head to make the person think I'm listening. Something about speech doesn't sit right with me and my brain feels like its getting overloaded. Doesn't even have to be some sort of instruction, I used to zone out in the middle of a conversation for three seconds and have no idea what the person just said.
I've gotten better recently, but I don't think I could ever memorize a set of directions unless the order made logical sense.
