How good are Vizio TVs?

I'm in the market for a 30-odd-inch LCD, and Vizios are cheap and are apparently very popular. Anyone know if there are any problems or disadvantages associated with the brand since they are (to my knowledge) relatively new?

Vizio may be new, but they are now the number one seller of LCDs. Many of them seem to have impressive feature lists, but most reviews suggest about average performance. As long as you don't expect it to be the same as something $500 more than it's probably perfectly adequate, especially given the size of the screens you're looking at. CNET's reviews of Vizio televisions usually give a good overview of their pros and cons.

I just bought the 37" set for my parents. It has a QAM/ATSC/NTSC tuner and looks decent. I upgraded them from a 27" CRT that was about 10 years old. They dont watch TV too often and dont quite care about quality. It was a great value as I paid $733 at Sams Club.

They've been selling like hotcakes over the past few months especially at Sam's Club, Costco, etc. I think they were spun off of Sony. But you're more likely to expect quality along the lines of Westinghouse and Olevia instead of Sony & Samsung.
It's on of those "you get what you pay for"... but overall, it seems to be a pretty good bang for your buck especially considering features like Quasmo said. Picture-wise obviously don't expect the best; but it should be good enough for most.
