Hey guys, I just got $100 from somebody as a Christmas gift, and I have been thinking of buying the Logitech Z640s for a long time. I found these speakers for $70 w/Free Shipping on BUY.COM. I want to know from somebody who has experienced the sound of the Z640s. Please don't tell me to spend some extra money for the Z560s. How good are the Z640s and should I buy them for $70. What are their pros and mainly what are their cons. I have an MSI motherboard with the S-Bracket for 5.1 Sound, I was going to hook up my speakers to this 6 channel sound card/motherboard. Some people have said this is a terrible on-board sound. I thought the Logitech Z640s would work great on my MSI S-Bracket. Plese help me out with buying these Logitech Z640's. Thank You.

Assuming that the Z640 is basically the same as the Z540 with a center channel, the sound should be great for a system of that price. However, if you have the basic integrated sound that comes with pretty much every motherboard, you should get a new sound card; it's worth it. Get yourself an Audigy (should be moderately priced), or if you want something cheap but good, get the SBLive5.1. That one does have its share of problems, though, one of the biggest ones being the fact that it seems to snap, crackle, and pop from almost never to frequently, seemingly depending on the system. The one in my old system almost never had this problem, though.
