how get AMD cool n quiet working

wanna get this workin so my rig isnt wasting electricity whill its jus sat doin nout whille im out,

i have a K8N-E Deluxe

havent updated the bios at all......the ASUS update utility doesnt seem to wanna connect to any asus servers.
they only bring overclocking anyway an im not ready to be doin that yet

enabled cool n quiet in bios after installing the ASUS AMD cool n quiet thingy off their utility cd

doesnt seem to work tho

or do i need to enable cool n quiet then install?
