He cheated. He had the napkin folded over in his LEFT hand. I watched it over and over. His fat hands hide the bulk of the napkin.

The camera angle changes quickly, so it's hard to spot. But you can see as he's preparing to wrap the napkin around the glass, the napkin is really long. As he UNwraps it, it looks really short, then suddenly when the camera changes angle, it's really long again.

Slight of hand and bullshiit. He cheated.

Absolutely correct imo. The napkin was folded for measuring, and then unfolded for comparison.

Height of glass is 7 inches, circumference is about 9.42 inches, and this glass has about an extra 3/4" of glass on the bottom.

That glass curves in at the top too, so you're at a disadvantage. I won a pepsi at work using my empty pepsi can and a box of paperclips.

I tried it and it really looks like it shouldn't work but it does if you remember pi*d.

He is correct, but I think that they are using a special lense to make the glass look narrower than it really is. When they do a close up near the end, you can see that it is a much wider glass than you initially think.

Not really geometry geeks, but the bbc show (the real hustle) is about con artistry and scams that goes on in the world.

Didn't look right to me... Someone can probably do a screen cap to verify. The length around the circumference is only slightly more than 3 times the diameter. (3.1415... times the diameter, actually.) That height looked closer to 4 times the diameter.

Looks like the aspect ratio of the video is more narrow than it should be. Look at their faces. They are all vertically squished.

I saw this on Fark. I liked the one they did with the whiskey and water better.
