I was just reading about the charity bowling tournament he had the other day to raise money for Boston schools, and I saw that he is engaged to Mia Hamm!!!! When did that happen? I love the Sox and try to follow them as much as I can (being in Atlanta makes it hard to see them much), and I do read up on them all the time... Guess I missed that one.

What a lucky guy... Not only is he one of the best players in the game, but he's engaged to Mia Hamm on top of that! Nomar is and always will be THE MAN!

Ya, he is a great baseball player (not sure about off-field).

And ya, he is on a 23-game hitting streak. He's on my fantasy baseball team. :D

I live down in FL and don't get to see the SOX much. A couple years back, after they started inter-league play, I got to go to a Marlins game. He was the only player that was doing autographs before the game, for fans in the bleachers. (I didn't get an autograph, but, I watched others asking and he made a few happy fans that day).

Surprisingly, there was a LOT of Boston Fans to watch the game. The next season they didn't have play down here, then they did the 3rd season. It was supposed to alternate but they haven't been back the last few years. I'm not sure what's up with that.

Anyway, I'm very impressed with Nomar. He's a great player AND a great role model (if you have to pick a baseball player to role model, that is).

Mia Hamm... he's definitely on a hitting streak!

Hey geno, you're right... It is NOMAAAAAAAAH!

I went with my wife and our dads to see the Sox play here in ATL on Fathers Day last year and it was great. It was the one game they won in the 6 game series, so needless to say I was pleased :) About the only way you can get me into the stadium is if the Sox are in town, so it looks like I won't be going this year! One thing's for sure, I would love to go see a game on top of the Monstah!!! :beer:

It's just a pity the Sox can't beat the Yankees... :D

I went to opening day at Fenway this year, and quite a few people had a jersey that said NOMAH on the back. I definitely would have picked one of them up, but I had already picked up a Manny jersey.

Nomah is the man though.

Manny is the man too! Not quite like Nomah, but close. Pedro is up there too... It's just too bad he keeps getting gimpy on us :(
