How force Win XP to use driver which was not written for device?

In Win 9x or Win 2K on the driver select screen there is a check box "Show All".
It gives you list of all drivers.
If you picking driver which was not written for this device Windows warns you, but lets you install it.

In Windows XP this option is absent, they will not show you any drivers that mismatch your product.
The only setting I know is security policy is for Unsigned Driver, but nothing about forcing to use specific driver.

The problem I have with SCSI scanner connected to USB to SCSI adapter.
It gives to Windows different Device ID than if it connected to SCSI directly.
In W2K I can force it to use normal SCSI driver and it works.
In Win XP on the same PC I can not pick the driver.

Thanks

Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Driver Signing. Check warn or ignore.

This is not what I need. I need install driver, that Windows thinks was not written for my hardware.
It is not showing it in the list of devices. I need check box similar to "Show All" in W2K or W9x

Put the driver on a floppy and browse to it and insist on using it. I've done that with a device that XP misidentified.
