how finicky are socket a motherboards?

i'm considering getting one of these shuttle boards from newegg.com

i'm also getting a new power supply that's supposedly amd compatible. anyone have any problems or experience with this board? any caveats?

AMD boards are no more or less trouble that the Intel counterpart. For the most part, the only difference is that the AMD boards will require more cooling and it is always a good idea to be sure and run a good power supply with them. The AMD cpu's tend to need more and better quality power. It is one thing to be "AMD approved", but quite another to be AMD approved for the specific CPU you will be using.
