How fast must a good computer be

Epox 8rda+, Barton 2500, Ram. Not real sure on RAM prices right now as I have not looked recently.
 
what do you use your comptuer for? 1.4 is probably fast enough for anything i could possibly through at my computer. why not go buy a fancy new video card or something like that.
 
I use my computer for AIM, Downloading lots of stuff, Lots of school work, and just playing games, I do have a pretty good vid card its a Gforce 4 ti4200

250 oughta get you an XBOX and a few good games.
 
pshh....XBOX....NO WAY. I HATE PLAYING GAMES ON A SYSTEM I only play on my computer...need to start biking again....use to go out and bike all day now i only bike like 2hrs a day
 
Doesn't Intel have a 3.2 GHz cpu out now?
I wonder how much difference you notice in speed after a certain point.

Well then how are you gonna play starcarft ghost, knights of the old republic, and a host of other games that are console only?
 
Well, when asked how much money would be enough, Rockefeller replied "Just a little more"...so.....I would say that the same applies to a good computer. The goal is to make it as fast as possible for the least amount of money....but how fast depends on who is using the computer, what you are using it for, etc... For a lot of people, it seems computers are NEVER fast enough. That's why the enthusiasts push them as far as possible. 🙂
