How fast is too fast?

Anybody who has an OC'd processor, tell us how fast and how hot it is running (and if you know, where to stop the madness), and what your setup is. Hopefully this will keep newbies like myself from killing our PC's. I have a P4 2.4 533fsb running at 2.62ghz and it ranges from 43 to 52c (I pushed it to get it up to 52. I was told I shouldn't let it get hotter than this). This is inside of a SS51G with 512mb of Crucial pc2100 with a heatsink. The processor cooling is stock except that I replaced the stock fan with a new quieter fan and added another 80mm fan on top of the processor (as suggested by someone from these forums). I added round cables and that seemed to help a little too (and if it didn't, atleast the cables are blue now and match the rest of the PC!):D Still using integrated video at 64mb 'cause I'm saving for the ATI 9700 Pro.

hi!

i see you're relatively new here...

welcome!

if you do a search, i think you can find the answer you are looking for...

also, are you looking for temps regarding p4's or amd's? and if so, specify that in your topic!

:)

A Pentium IV isn't really "too fast" unless it breaks the light barrier, starts traveling back in time, and ends up a Pentium Classic...

My p4 has gotten up to 56c, so don't worry too much. I keep my room warm in summer. As long as your system is stable, you're ok.
