how fast is my hd?

is there such a software for hard drives? i have several hard drives, but cant tell which one is the fastest to have the OS and apps installed on it.

Thats not true, the fastest 7,200rpm sata drives out right now are the 500GB platter drives

Note how both the single platter seagate and samsung both beat the double platter WD drive.

The samsung F3 drive is pretty much the fastest right now.

Exactly, i own 3 500GB 7200rpm drives, a WD5000AAKS(3 platter, 6 head) a WD5001AALS(2 platter, 4 head) and a Seagate 7200.12 500GB(1 platter, 2 head)

Fastest is the seagate, then the WD5001AALS, and the WD5000AAKS is a fair bit slower than both the others. The seagate is also way quiter than the others, those WD blacks are really loud i dont know why everyone thinks they are the best drives.
