How fast is my dual 867mhz G4 cpu compared to x86?

I know risc to cisc comparison is stupid,
but theres gotta some benchmark or somehting that compares those two.

(i just picked the board up on ebay too, pretty decent deal $300 )

I'd imagine it's about as fast as an 867MHz RISC CPU in all cases except when the use of a second CPU is required (a few apps?). As for RISC vs CISC, I have no idea.

There was a benchmark awhile ago on photoshop performance on a Dual 1.25ghz mac vs a 3ghz PC laptop, and the PC mopped the floor with the mac.

i dunno, but we got dual g4/1ghz's at work and my home pc eats apples for lunch.

I remember a benchmark where a dual MP 1.2 gig beat a dual mac 1 gig setup quite handily. There was also a single P4 comp thrown in there too I think.

How do you want ot compare them? I doubt your dual 867s would beat a p4 2ghz at much.

Dual 867MHz G4 is slower than the 900MHz PCs you can buy at walmart for $200 in most applications.

A 2GHz P4 runs mac code faster in an emulator than a 1.25GHz G4 mac runs it natively.
