The A160 is a very slow road car. Yet the E55, which is comparable to a Corvette C5 in the straight only have 15 secs difference in lapping the track from to that slow ass A160.

The McLaren F1 : 60 secs difference in lapping the track from the E55.

Nothing. A racing F1 will kill a McLaren F1 on the track.

F1 cars have the highest power to weight ratio of anything on pavement with curves. Sprint cars (the dirt type, not CART) are the highest power/weight outside of drag racing.

Holy crap is that video awesome! :D

Anyway, the F1 cars all do over 200mph and will do 0-100 in like 5-6 seconds.

They are bad ass :)

Just so you really get an idea how fast a Formula 1 car really is.....

The F-1 car in that race was not even a qualifying car. It was just one of the "test" cars, with heavy rain tires :(

If that was one of the 2001 qualifying F-1's with race tires, it would have been another 10 to 12 seconds faster :Q

I would be willing to have 10 years taken off my life just to drive an F-1 car for several laps!

awesome clip.

I would have loved to see them pit a stock car vs the F1 car =) Show the good ol boys what real racing is like.

Great clip! Hearing the F1 engine makes me miss the Grand Prix races (4 of them) I saw in Montreal. :)

OMG...stop! STOP! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's probably the funniest thing I've heard all day...BLAHAHAHA...Thanks for the laugh, seriously. Now I know some people are gonna take you seriously, so maybe you should edit your post and add a winky emoticon

;)

I know you like Nascar...but watch F1...seriously much more exciting than NASCAR. World Rally Championship is even better!

Why was the guy wearing a flame retardant suit?

Because he knew he was going to get smoked!

ehh supergroove- i think you took my comment totally the wrong way.

I am a huge fan of F1 along with CART. Nascar intensely bores me.

Hi Valhalla1

I've got it somewhere in my papers, i'll find it and post it. It was clocked here at Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal in 1998 with a Williams. If I remember right it's
5.91sec. I'll post when I as soon as find it. :D

I have seen the same trick with a Ferrari, using a Ferrari F550 and a Fiat UNO.

F1 cars can reach upto 300Kmph and beyond.

I don't think you'd be able to get that thing around the track once... :)

Yep, them World of Outlaws sprinters carry about 950-1000HP. Throttle control is everything.

SpeedVision has been showing a Mercedes promo where David Coulthard races a Mercedes sport coupe and a Mercedes SUV at Silverstone. It's a staggered start, and Coulthard starts at least a half lap behind them both ... yet by the last corner he is able to overtake them and speed on across the Finish line well in first place.

I think F1 cars are 200-250 MPH, I could be wrong. I know McLaren F1 did 230, but it's probably a bit slower then a real F1 car.

Midnight Rambler, they did something similar to that here at the Aus F1GP this year, but i assume it wouldn't have been shown anywhere else in the world. they had a race (of sorts) between a stock BMW 318, V8 Supercar and williams 2000 F1 car. the BMW started 50secs before the V8 supercar, then i think it was a further 20/30secs before the F1 started...the F1 went flying past them on the final straight to win the race.

whoever was responsible for the handicapping should be congratulated for making it such a close finish.

Just another little point, if the video was accurate, the tires on the F1 were cold and fresh. Warm tires would have given him a few more seconds.
