How fast is a 1.1GHz Tbird supposed to do a SETI block?

Are you using the same version of the SETI client as before? They recently shifted from the older 3.0 client to the new 3.03 client, which does more work on the WU and consequentially is slower. 11 hours is still a bit on the long side. Do you have the graphics set to blank the screen immediately? The graphics reduce the client's efficiency quite a bit also.

What version are you using? If you are using v3.03 they should take something around 6 hours for a typical work unit. If you are using the GUI did you remember to set to blank screen in a short time?

Maybe a dumb question, but do you have any other tasks competing with the SETI client for CPU time? Maybe a screensaver (blank screen screensaver is the best) or something? And what program do you use to monitor the SETI client, perhaps SETISpy or something?

As the others said ,+

If you don't have a task manager to check out SETI's cpu utilisation then get this one :) ATM

SETI should get around 98-99% cpu time with little else running
