VERY fast.

You could d/l an entire cd stuffed full of data in under 3 minutes.

A t1 is 1.5megabits per second, so 30 Megabits is 20 times faster than a t1.

If you were actually getting the 30 Mbits, it's huge. Your modem probably does not come anywhere near 56k in real life, and typically much less on the upstream.

56k means 56kilobits, download spees are usually quoted in kilobytes.

56kbps = 7kBps. So your 5 is about 70% line usage, which is pretty good.


30megabit is 30,000kilobit = 3750kBps max.

So max usage is somewhere around 535 times that of a 56k modem.


Assuming 70% usage sustained on the 30megabit line as well you are looking at about 2700kBps as popposed to your 5 now.

It is very fast.

1 kb = 1024bits, not 1000. So its actually 30 * 1024.
