And may I ask you where the super-sonic option is in your poll? Did I waste $95,000 for nothing?! 😀

Here's the thing to consider with speed. Going 90-100mph in most modern day "sports" car is not very dangerous at all in the right circumstances. However, going speeds of 100+ in a vehicle like a Ford Festiva are not a good idea even under ideal conditions. :Q😉

I drive our Ford Festiva delivery car around 80 mph all the time in town. One of the other guys brought it up around 90 while bringing it to the shop.

115 on highway 101 north bound through Windsor at 7:30 in the morning in my 1970 Mustang coupe with 250 inline six and C4 3 speed auto. I later calculated the RPM to be somewhere around 5000 for more than a minute, it was stupid, I could have blown the motor, on second though, i have to find a way to get rid of the damn six cylinder.

155 in my 735i.
Still had rpms to spare before redline, but the speed limiter wouldnt let me 🙁

100Mph in my '93 Ford Probe. That was on a little strech outside of town, just seeing what it would do. Felt pretty stable actually.

I did 110 MPH briefly once. I routinely touch 100+ on straight interstates between clumps of cars. I blast up to a clump, carefully pick my way through it, then blast to the next one.

Lets see here.

95 in an 86 Plymouth Reliant (it was shaking and teh speedo only said 85, but it was pegged hard)
105 in an 89 Chrysler Lebaron Conv, both top up and top down 🙂
110 in a 98 Neon DOHC Auto
100 in a 95 Neon SOHC 5 Speed.
110 in a 94 Dodge Dakota V6 Auto w/overdrive

I hit 100 in every car I buy, its a luxery of knowing of a stretch of straight road in a rural part of Ohio🙂

lmao! nice set of cars.. the DOHC should be able to go alot higher. my 2001 R/T hit about 130mph.. yours should be able to as well! 🙂

Well those 3 speed autos that they continued to put in neons until 2001 hurts top speed, so I think the theorhetical top speed of that car is like 125 or so. I was on a highway, passing my friend in his civic that was showing off but his car stopped accelerating at 95mph and the neon kept climbing with more pedal. Only problem was, although I passed him easily, the exit was getting close, and I was in the left lane on a 3 lan highway 🙂
