How fast does hpshopping refund money on a return ?

I bought a compaq r3000z a couple weeks ago.
If you read my other thread, I was concerned about it having exhaust vents on the bottom and the possibility of overheating if the vents are blocked when it's on my lap or sitting on a bed.
I also wasn't happy with the display.

Since it seems like almost every lappy I've looked at has vents on the bottom, I may just need to get a laptop desk/cooler. But because of the display and the fact that there is a new coupon code, I may return this machine and get another one with the better display and even end up saving some money.

The problem is that I can't afford to buy another one until I get the money from the first one refunded and it looks like the coupon expires on 10/11.

If I call today to do a return, what are the chances of getting the money credited back in time to order another machine before 10/11?

It also says something about exchanges on the hpshopping web site. Does anyone know how this works?

I think they are very reliable. I bought two Ipaq's, $750 in all, and took them outside the country for a friend. One of them stopped working, so I had to return it. It was over the 30 day period, but I called in before that. I mailed it and they refunded the whole amount. I wouldnt worry about that if I were dealing with them. And by the way, this was the refurbished store, so the regular store should only be better I think.

I'm not expecting any problems with them refunding the money.
What I meant was that I don't have the funds to buy another machine until I actually get the refund.
So what I'm wondering is how long it takes to get the money back.

The website says:
"If you don't follow this process, your credit or exchange may be delayed pending proof of delivery to our warehouse. Please follow the above directions or you will assume risk of loss and payment of return freight."

This makes it sound like you will get the refund before the laptop actually arrives back at their warehouse. If this is the case, then I shouldn't have a problem getting the money back in time to order another machine before the coupon expires on 10/11. But if they don't refund the money until they actually receive the returned laptop, then it may not be in time.

I've returned twice with them and on each occassion they credited back my card within 2 business days of fedex having come and pick my package up.
